Performances Cancelled Through Fall 2020
All performances inside the Hylton Performing Arts Center and all other venues managed by Mason’s College of Visual and Performing Arts have been suspended through fall 2020.
This includes all university-sponsored events, performances by the Hylton Center Arts Partners, and all events sponsored by external organizations.
Some events may be rescheduled to a later date, if possible. We will share those details as they become available.
Important Information for Ticket Holders
Outstanding tickets from the 2019/2020 seasons will be refunded to the original payment method on June 1, 2020. If you wish to receive credit for the 2020/2021 season or you would like to donate your tickets as a tax-deductible contribution, please submit the ticket option form before the June 1, 2020 deadline. Thank you!
As cancellations of performances and gatherings become more widespread in the wake of COVID-19, the financial impact on artists and presenters around the world is becoming a harsh reality. Please consider donating the cost of your ticket(s) or choose a credit to use for a future performance.
Programs, artists, and dates are subject to change without notice. All patrons must have a ticket, regardless of age.
Ticket Exchange: Individual ticket buyers have the option to exchange their tickets to an event within the same season for a fee. Exchange fees are $2.50 per ticket and will not exceed $10 per show. You must exchange your tickets in person, at the Hylton Center Ticket Office at least 24 hours in advance of the performance.
Subscribers have the option to exchange their tickets free for an event within the same season. Tickets may be exchanged in person, by mail, or by fax. For more information, please call the subscriber hotline at 703-993-7700.
Lost/Forgotten Ticket Policy: If you misplace or forget your tickets you may have them reprinted. However, General Admission tickets are not reprinted. Please check in at the Ticket Office at least 15 minutes prior to the show.
Ticket Donations: Tickets can be returned to the Ticket Office 24 hours prior to a performance as a tax-deductable contribution. A letter acknowledging this contribution will be mailed to you for tax purposes.
Late Seating: The Hylton Center works closely with performers to start all performances on time. All patrons are required to be seated before a performance begins. Late seating will be done at designated breaks and at the discretion of House Management.
Pre-Performance Ticket Sales: The Ticket Office will discontinue sales of future shows 30 minutes prior to the start of the performance that day. Purchase of tickets for future performances may be completed during intermission.
Gift Certificates: Gift Certificates are available for purchase at the ticket window or by phone during regular business hours. Gift certificates are valid for one year from the date of purchase and may be purchased in any amount. Gift certificates may be used to purchase performances associated with the Hylton Presents, Hylton Family Series, Matinee Idylls, American Roots Series, or Hylton Center EXTRA! series. They may not be used for Arts Partners, Affiliate Arts Organizations, or rental performances.
Child Policies: All performances require a ticket for every person in the theater. This includes children, regardless of age. Children are welcome at any Family-Friendly performance and must always be accompanied by an adult. Parental discretion is advised for some performances that may not be suitable for young children.
For Hylton Family Series only: All patrons must have a ticket. Children under the age of two who are held by an adult and do not occupy a seat may receive a lap ticket free of charge.
