Lifelong Learning Institute of Manassas (LLI) is an educational and social organization for people over the age of 50 in Prince William County and surrounding counties. It is a non-profit, member-run organization that provides classes, clubs, and social opportunities for seniors. Class topics include history, literature, religion, economics, and the arts.

The Hylton Center has collaborated with LLI on classes tied to Hylton Center programming since 2013. Examples of past Hylton Center and LLI collaborative presentations include, The Legendary Ingramettes, Mark Morris Dance Group, Ballet Hispánico, Seán Heely, Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience, and George Mason University faculty members Jim Carroll, Rick Davis, and Darden Purcell.

This spring, LLI members and the community will have an opportunity to learn more about two upcoming performances from the Hylton Presents series: PHILADANCO! and American Festival Pops Orchestra (AFPO)

Both presentations will take place in the Hylton Center Jacquemin Family Foundation Hall.
“I enjoy the opportunity to work with LLI to allow community and audience members a chance to engage more deeply with artists and learn more about the performances that are part of our season to hopefully have a more enriched experience when they attend performances,” says Education Coordinator, Marit Majeske.

The relationship between the Hylton Center and LLI is reciprocal. LLI Board President, Ann Cain explains, “One of our goals is to bring more people to the Hylton to increase attendance at the various presentations given there. At any Hylton event, you will see many LLI members. It is our hope that the people who attend Hylton performances will learn about LLI.”

LLI classes held at the Hylton Center are free and open to the public and can be found at HyltonCenter.org. For a complete listing of LLI classes, along with information about an LLI membership, please visit lli-manassas.org.
