The Manassas Ballet Theatre's Gaite Parisienne & More!

March is a big month for the Hylton Center’s Arts Partners. Experience dance, theater, choral and orchestral music like never before! The Manassas Symphony Orchestra kicks things off with Amadeus! (3/5), a dynamic performance paying tribute to all-things-Mozart. The program includes Mozart’s Piano Concerto in A Major, Tchaikovsky’s homage Suite No. 4 ("Mozartiana") and Mozart’s engaging Symphony No. 38 (Prague). Next up, Manassas Ballet Theatre presents Gaite Parisienne & More! (3/11-3/13). Set to music by Jacques Offenbach, this one-act ballet offers a glimpse into Café Tortoni, a Paris nightclub where characters from all levels of society mix, mingle and flirt. Musical theater lovers can also enjoy another option that weekend: Prince William Little Theatre’s production of Sister Act (3/11-3/13; 3/18-3/20)! This absolutely enlivening musical comedy is based on the hit film starring Whoopi Goldberg. When disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder, she is placed in protective custody where she is the least likely to be found: a convent! Outrageous dancing, feel-good music and unexpected friendship soon follow. Closing out the month is the Manassas Chorale’s Wonder, Love and Praise (3/19); an annual concert of sacred music that includes toe-tapping spirituals, beautiful melodies and stunning arrangements.
