Subscriber FAQ

I have questions. Who can I call?

Subscribers may call our Subscriber Helpline at 703-993-7700 to receive personalized service. Our staff will be happy to assist you with directions, restaurant suggestions, or any other questions that you might have.

Can I buy additional tickets at a discount?

Yes. As a subscriber, you qualify to receive a 15% discount on tickets to any additional events (Hylton Presents holiday performances excluded) that you purchase. This discount is available at the Hylton Center ticket office, by calling the Subscriber Helpline at 703-993-7700, or by using your subscriber login on Manage My Tickets. Log in to Manage My Tickets.

How do I exchange my tickets?

Free ticket exchanges are a subscriber-only privilege. It’s easy and you may exchange as often as necessary.

You may exchange your tickets at the Hylton Center Ticket Office or by using the return envelope included with your tickets. All exchanges must be completed by the day before the date on the ticket that is being exchanged. Though your tickets need to be returned to the Hylton Center Ticket Office, you are welcome to call the Subscriber Helpline at 703-993-7700, and discuss your exchange with our Ticket Office staff. Our staff will help you determine the best way for you to complete your exchange.

Subscribers may also exchange tickets online using Manage My Tickets. Once logged into your account, click on “My Ticket Inventory” in the top navigation. Then select “Exchange Tickets” from the Ticket Action dropdown menu and select tickets from your list of events below. You can choose from a list of other Hylton Presents events and select new seats. You may also access available account credit online through Manage My Tickets. A credit card is required in case identification is needed for any follow-up customer service. If the amount of credit available is sufficient to pay for your order, your credit card will not be charged.

May I exchange tickets when I am at the Hylton Center for another performance?

If you arrive early for a performance, the Ticket Office staff will be pleased to help you with your exchange for a future event. Please note, however, that within 30 minutes of a performance start time, the Ticket Office will only transact business for that event. Ticket Office staff members are also available during the intermission at most performances to assist with exchanges for future events.

What happens when I exchange tickets for tickets at a different price?

If the new tickets have a greater value than those that you are exchanging, you will pay the difference in price. If the new tickets have a lesser value, you will not receive a refund of the difference. However, this difference is considered a donation to the Hylton Center, and is tax-deductible as allowed by law.

Which events may I exchange into?

Patrons are welcome to exchange into any event in the same Hylton Presents season. You may also turn your tickets back in to the Hylton Center as a contribution that is tax-deductible as allowed by law, so long as you do so prior to the event. Ticket donations cannot be accepted after the performance date has passed. This will allow the Ticket Office to sell your tickets to someone else, and you will receive a letter in the mail acknowledging your donation.

May I exchange my tickets for events at the Center for the Arts ?

Subscribers may apply the value of their subscription tickets toward the purchase of full-price tickets for Great Performances at Mason performances at the Center for the Arts on Mason’s Fairfax Campus.

What if I lose or forget my tickets?

Call the Subscriber Helpline at 703-993-7700. When you arrive for the performance, the Ticket Office staff will have replacement tickets waiting for you.

Can I manage my subscription online?

Yes. Log into your Manage My Tickets account to manage your subscription, change your contact information, reprint your tickets, exchange your tickets for another performance, donate tickets back to the Hylton Center, or forward them to another person. Call the Ticket Office at 703-993-7700 if you need assistance logging into your Manage My Tickets account.

How do I find my seats?

House staff members are stationed throughout the Hylton Center prior to each performance to help guide you to your seats.

What if I'm late for a performance?

Please allow plenty of travel time to reach the Hylton Center. As a courtesy to the artists and our patrons, the Hylton Center strives to start all performances on time. Patrons arriving after the start of a performance will be seated at an appropriate break and in an appropriate location, as determined by house management, and according to artists’ requirements.

How do I request accessibility accommodations?

The Hylton Center provides access for patrons with disabilities and special needs. Please call the Hylton Center Ticket Office at 703-993-7759 for information on accessible parking and seating areas. FM hearing devices, large-print programs, and other services are available for your convenience and comfort. Please contact the Ticket Office at least two weeks in advance of the performance with any special needs requests. More information about accessible options at the Hylton Center.

May I bring children with me?

Yes. There are many events identified as “Family-Friendly ” which we deem as most suitable for families with younger children to enjoy together. In an effort to ensure an exceptional experience for all of our patrons, we recommend that children attending events other than “Family-Friendly” be at least six years old. More information for families at the Hylton Center

All patrons, regardless of age, require a ticket. Children and youth through grade 12 may join a subscriber for any Hylton Presents event at half of the regular price.

I forgot something at the Hylton Center. What should I do?

Audience members may ask any usher or ticket office staff member for assistance with misplaced items. Patrons may also call 703-993-7759 if they discover that they have left something behind.

What can I do if I arrive early ?

Come early for our popular Pre-Performance Discussions held in Merchant Hall one hour prior to most Hylton Presents performances. Enjoy a lively forum led by a local expert or the artists themselves. Discussions last about 30 minutes and are free for ticket holders. Learn more about activities prior to performances.

What if there is bad weather the day of my subscription performance?

The Hylton Center makes every effort to present scheduled performances even in the event of inclement weather. However, there are times when extraordinary weather conditions cause an event to be cancelled or rescheduled. Please call the Ticket Office at 703-993-7759 or check the homepage for performance updates. If an event is cancelled or rescheduled, we will call or email to notify you of your options regarding exchanges or refunds. Please contact the Ticket Office if your phone number and/or email address have changed.
