Introducing Mason Arts at Home

Members of the Bumper Jacksons performed as part of the new Mason Arts at Home series. All Mason Arts at Home performances are now available on the Center for the Arts YouTube channel.

George Mason University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) strongly believes that the arts create community, even if from afar. We know that there are so many students, artists, and community members whose lives are upended right now due to COVID-19. While we can’t invite you into our spaces physically, we want to continue to share artistic experiences with you.

Watch the archived performances on the Center for the Arts YouTube channel.

This is why we launched Mason Arts at Home, which brings Mason Arts to you! Our programming features livestreams from guest artists; releases of previously recorded content; opportunities to experience work by our talented alumni, students, and faculty; as well as interactive activities from across the college.

Mason Arts at Home virtual programming kicked off Thursday, April 2 in conjunction with Mason’s fourth annual Giving Day, as a way for CVPA to give back to our dedicated community of arts supporters and enthusiasts as well. The day was full of inspiring content including Mason Artist-in-Residence, composer, and NEA Jazz Master Maria Schneider, who participated in a Q&A focused on her pioneering work in the music industry.

Details for how to join, including a regularly updated calendar of content to explore can be found here: cfa.gmu.edu/MAAH. You can also view the same calendar through the Hylton Center.

Follow us on the Center for the Arts Facebook page as well, as we continue to share inspiring updates from our community of artists on an ongoing basis.
