The University Chorale performs in a Broadway Showcase.

Mason Arts at the Hylton Center will present Mason's University Chorale in an uplifting concert of theatrical favorites in Chorale Broadway Showcase (4/15). “The tradition of the Broadway Showcase is an annual event that brings together students from across campus to represent the stories, beauty, and passion of Broadway music,” said Dr. Lisa A. Billingham, director of choral activities at George Mason University's Dewberry School of Music. “The legacy of this performance brings our Chorale Family Alumni back each year.”

The University Chorale, an audition-only ensemble of 80 to 100 singers from more than 25 majors across campus, performs a wide variety of music each semester ranging from classical styles to multicultural works and popular music. The group’s annual Broadway Showcase is incredibly popular and lets students assist with the design, coaching, and choreography for the production. “My favorite part about Showcase is the satisfaction of seeing all the hard work in rehearsal pay off in a big way!” says University Chorale student Marcus Tate. Another Chorale student Erin Davis adds, “showcase is fun whether you’re a performer or just watching. No matter what, you can’t help but sing along to all the songs.”
