Gallery Exhibit: Iconographic Visions

Works by Julia Dzikiewicz and Michael Fischerkeller

Utilizing personal and appropriated iconic imagery, Iconographic Visions instigates social and political change and evokes compassion as the artists’ works compel the viewer to confront the tumultuous political climate and social issues facing us today. Through colorful encaustic works, Julia Dzikiewicz challenges art lovers to explore a political landscape while being mesmerized by her mix of bold bright imagery and multi-layered three dimensional crystal and metallic elements.  Michael Fischerkeller conveys his vision through meticulously wrought spray painted stencil work inspired by the tools and techniques of street artists and the imagery of pre-Raphaelite masterpieces.

Evening receptions for Friends of the Hylton Center are held for the opening of each Gallery exhibition. Receptions feature hors d’oeuvres, wine or craft beer from a local winery or brewery, and a chance to meet each artist and hear about their work.  Fall Gallery receptions will be held from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. on September 28, November 9, and December 6, 2017.

Arts Alive!

The 6th annual family-friendly arts festival features Arts Council members and other community performers and fine artists. Enjoy activities for all ages, multiple stages of performances indoors and out, plus food and craft vendors with items for sale. Come out and celebrate your local arts community! Free, no tickets required.
