Keyboard Conversations with Jeffrey Siegel

A Few of Your Favorite Things

  • April 22, 2017 at 8:00 pm

Merchant Hall Family Friendly Event

What are your favorite classical pieces? Virtuoso pianist Jeffrey Siegel asked this of his March 2016 audience at the Hylton Center and they responded with many works.  From these, he’s chosen Gershwin’s rarely heard solo piano version of Rhapsody in Blue, Chopin’s heroic Polonaise in A flat and beloved A flat Waltz, Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, Debussy's Clair de Lune, Rachmaninoff's dynamic C sharp minor Preludes, and Haydn's saucy “Gypsy Rondo.” In our final Keyboard Conversations® with Jeffrey Siegel for the 2016-17 season, Jeffrey will share fascinating information about these cherished pieces before playing each in its entirety. Become a classical music insider as Jeffrey Siegel provides illuminating insights into the lives of the world's greatest composers. Full of wit, knowledge, and a deep admiration for the music, this performance created especially by you and for you will make you fall in love with classical piano. "Expressive and full of passion... This is an artist who means every note he plays." (The New York Times)
