Works by Martin J. Cervantez, Master Sergeant, USA, (Ret.)
War and Recovery is an intimate look at life after military service, art therapy, and the never-ending challenge of keeping depression at bay. Inspired by the artist's urgency to create art as a therapeutic tool for mental awareness and health, occupational therapy, and physical therapy, this exhibition comprises a variety of mediums. The artist's visionary, color-filled and disciplined mark making, meditative focus, and elaborately detailed works speak to his individual experience as a veteran, artist, and storyteller.
Featuring appetizers and wine tasting by a local Virginia winery.
